MISSION
Ghana Kanta Borah College, Tamulichiga is situated at a rural backdrop at Lahuwal village of Tamulichiga area, the marshy land on horse-shoe lake of Jhanji river at the junction of Jorhat and Sivasagar districts. It stands at a comparatively remote area approximately 7 kilometers from the nearest semi urban set up existing by the National Highway-37. Although the college was started in 1983, it ran on the mercy of benevolent donors until the services only of the teaching and non-teaching staff got provincialised in 2021. The college took birth as a makeshift add-on institute in the Tamulichiga High School campus, amidst the turmoil of Assam Agitation. Later, by virtue of donations in the form of land, cash, kind and service by a multitude of local benefactors, the college was made to stand on the present day location on the wet wasteland over the horse-shoe lake of Jhanji river. The land and building were donated by different benevolent persons. A number of local educated persons volunteered without any remuneration to educate their brethren, lest they become succumbed to the prevalent socio-political upheaval of the 1980’s Assam. More and more persons carried forward the selfless service against a meager remuneration until their services got finally acknowledged and provincialised in the year 2021.
